The Court of Justice of the State of São Paulo (TJ SP) opened the notice for the 189th Exam and Qualifications Competition for Entry into the Judiciary. O TJ SP competition There will be 266 immediate vacancies for Substitute Judges.
The Fundação para o Vestibular da Universidade Estadual Paulista (Fundação VUNESP) will be the organizing committee of the competition. All stages will be carried out in the city of São Paulo.
TJ SP competition: vacancy details
To the 266 substitute judge vacancies are divided into 200 for broad competition, 13 for People with Disabilities (PwD) and 53 for black candidates.
The Substitute Judge's allowance will be R$ 28,883.97, and the candidate must have a higher education degree in Law for at least three years, and also have at least three years of legal activity by the date of final registration.
To participate, there is a maximum age of 65 years old by the final registration date.
TJ SP competition: registration
Keep an eye! Preliminary registration will open at 9am on August 16th and go to the 11:59 pm on September 17, 2021, at the VUNESP Foundation website (organizing panel).
The participation fee will be R$ 288.83.
The application fee will be waived for candidates who:
- Be a student regularly enrolled in a pre-university course, or higher education course, at undergraduate or postgraduate level;
- Have a monthly salary of less than two minimum wages or are unemployed.

TJ SP competition: objective test
An objective test consisting of three blocks and 100 questions will be the first stage of the contest. The evaluation will take place on the probable date of November 14, 2021 and will cover the subjects below:
Block I (30 questions):
- Civil right;
- Civil Procedural Law;
- Consumer Law;
- Child and Adolescent Law (Annex I).
Block II (35 questions):
- Criminal Law;
- Criminal Procedural Law;
- Constitutional right;
- Electoral Law (Annex I).
Block III (35 questions):
- Business Law;
- Tax law;
- Environmental Law;
- Administrative Law (Annex I).
TJ SP Competition: discursive test and sentence practice
The second stage will consist of a discursive test and two sentencing practices, divided into three different days, according to the schedule established by the notice.
The first written test will last four hours and will have questions relating to General Notions of Law and Humanistic Training, in addition to questions from the subjects scheduled for the objective test.
The second written test will feature two sentences (one of a civil nature and the other of a criminal nature) each lasting four hours.
TJ SP competition: third stage
The third stage of the competition will consist of the four phases listed below:
- Final registration;
- Inquiry into the candidate’s past life and social investigation;
- Physical and mental health examinations;
- Psychological assessment.

TJ SP competition: oral test
The fourth stage will be an oral test that will require the knowledge detailed in Annexes I and II of the notice. The topic will be defined by draw and the candidate will have 15 minutes to make their answer.
An examining board will be responsible for evaluating the participant's response and will assign a grade in accordance with the requirements of the notice.
TJ SP competition: proof of titles
Finally, there will be a title test worth 10 points for all participants who passed all the previous stages.
The following charges will be required: holding a position in the area of Law, passing a public competition, diploma in undergraduate courses, publications of legal works, participation in competition examination boards and other qualifications.

The competition will be valid for two years from the approval of the final result. If necessary, it will be renewed for a longer period of time.
